Intergenerational Program
LACCC offers a variety of intergenerational programs allowing the
children to develop new friendships as they learn about shared
interests and mutual respect. The following programs are
offered:
- Music Buddies and Tots-N-Tunes: old and young delight in sharing the sound and feel of music
- Playtime:
toddlers and residents develop special friendships as they spend
light-hearted, unstructured “toy-time” together
- Puppet Pals: residents and children enjoy the magic of story and puppets
- Partners in Fun: preschoolers and residents enjoy a variety of activities focusing on teamwork and cooperation
- Friends-N-Fun With Kids: preschoolers and residents enjoy stories and crafts together building a strong relationship between young and old
Curriculum
- Each program at LACCC strives to meet the individual needs of every child.
- Classrooms are prepared according to the interests and abilities of the children in that classroom
- Materials are regularly added and rotated to extend a child’s interest
- Special programs, holiday parties and celebrations throughout the year
